The Seamstress of Poway

When people ask about a wedding, they ask questions that they expect they already know the answer to. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of, “So do you have your wedding dress?”

My answer, “Nope.”

“No?! You’re kidding! Your wedding is less than 2 months away!”

It is less than two months away, and this is what my wedding dress looks like:

My mom is making my dress. And so far – this is where we’re at. There’s not much to it yet – but what there is of it, it does fit perfectly.

She says she has been “brainstorming” about the dress while on vacation in Kauai. But she’s back on the mainland now and getting to work.

And although it seems like there’s a lot of dress to make in a little bit of time, I’m not nervous. She also made my sister Kelly’s dress, and look how that turned out!

I still have it in my closet if you need it in a pinch…

  2. katie says:

Yeah, we know – you wear it on a regular basis. To neighborhood parades, friends’ houses for dinner….it does still fit, I have to give it to you!

  3. Mary says:

Hey! Saint Mary of Poway has a lot of pull from “up above” which may come in handy if a dress miracle is needed as wedding week draws near.

  4. John (Katies Dad) says:

I viewed the picture of your mother with the red dummy and the dress, a distinct improvement over the intended recipient..
